good morning
sunshine
the
earth
says
"hello!"
The familiar blank look was on her face, and she let out soft breaths, even though she didn't require it. It was purely a habitual thing, and in the past strenuous days, anything that seemed familiar had calmed her. She wasn't quite sure why it was strenuous, but maybe it was because even her own future was moving around so much it was hard to keep track, and that worried her. Alice wasn't a very easily worried person, but she hid it very well between the cheerful smiles. She turned, taking easy, graceful steps toward the door. She opened it, descending down into the living room area. Esme had taken great pleasure in restoring this house, for sure, and it had even made Alice happy.
It had been hard leaving Forks, especially for Alice and Bella. Bella because all her friends were there, and Alice because she'd become attached to Forks. However, the quiet town had settled her right in. Nova Alterra was such a beautiful name as well. She noted, in the distance, the sound of Bella's Lullaby. Then, also sounds of conversation in other rooms. She passed the living room, slowly opening the door and descending with ease down the steps, before taking a seat on the bottom. It was a cloudy day, so no sun reflected off her marble skin. She sighed softly to herself, but in a happy way. Sighing was such an old action... Instincts, dusty in the corner of her mind, was all she had left of her human existence.
Then again, she preferred this over that. She had a family, and she had Jasper. Who had ever thought she'd meet the most perfect man for her? She could overlook his past easily, with such a wonderful future ahead. Some might say the whole 'stuck in the past' thing failed to apply to her, only because it was more like 'caught up in the future'. Smiling ruefully to herself, she watched the forest around their home, picking out even the smallest of life. The squirrels, the trees, the wind in the leaves. It was all so beautiful... She stored away this memory in her mind, because, eerily, it was like the calm before the storm. She felt almost like she was missing something, and that? Well, that worried her.
