rock n' roll
Appearance:[/blockquote]Ruffled looking bronze locks that push just past his upper neck and sometimes up to his shoulders outline the face of Edward Cullen. In the sunlight the strands of his hair glimmer near a dark honey roasted colour, and in the shade, the shades of the locks turn from bronze to a dark copper. The tresses go along perfectly with charming honey eyes, making Edward look irresistibly handsome. The topaz eyes seem to radiate with every new intuition, and mostly unintentionally seductive. he can easily waver any human females thoughts to his liking and use, just because of his gorgeous shimmering eyes. But occasionally, his mesmerizing eyes turn from a light, cheery butterscotch to a dark ebony colour. When then happens it is known that Edward had gone a very long time without hunting, or he has been exposed to the scent of human blood; when this happens, his honey eyes morph to that ebony black, and seem lifeless because of the abyss of darkness. they are usually a light violet and contrast highly with his ghost white face. Every vampire has this same resemblance, a constant reminder of how they cannot sleep. The bags are a light to deep purple, depending on whether he is thirsty or not. The longer he hasn't hunted, the longer he hasn't feasted, meaning the blood lust in him is enhanced, causing the bags to deepen. Even his eyelid's are that same deep purple colour, just not as bad as under his golden eyes. The violet colour of the bags also cause contrast with his face, since that is also pale in tone. Thick eyelashes cover his varying eyes, and make his eyes even more prominent. Perfectly arched eyebrows lay just above the eyes of Edward; they are the same unique colour as his disarray of hair.
The marble like skin that is the outer layer of Edward's protection is deathly cold, it feels like death itself, creeping on the vampire making him feel like ice. The skin is hard and can easily bruise another individual that isn't immortal, even without meaning to; the only thing that can tear it to shreds is a werewolf or another vampire. Also very light in colour, meaning pale; it almost makes him seem like a ghost because of the paleness. Humans usually shy away from this, because to them it is a very alien feature. His pale lips are no exception to this feature, and are also paler than regular humans lips pigments, and feel like ice found in the frozen tundra of Antarctica, but also are full and plump, and evenly sized. The lips are a few tones darker than Edward's skin, and are light pink in colour. Behind those deathly cold lips are glistening pearly white teeth, drenched in a constant supply of venom. They are usually very intimidating, unless Edward uses them to his charming advantage with the ladies. His chin is smooth, and isn't 'cut' at a sharp angle, or has any fat underneath it, meaning he DOESN'T have a double chin. He has nearly transparent cheek bones that are angular and also 'cut' at a delicate angle. His face is nearly clean shaved and smooth, but since he was turned when he was a growing man at seventeen, fuzz is one of the annoying acquaintances of Edward; even though it is nearly noticeable. His ears are the same colour as his face, pale white, and are not to big, nor to small. They are hidden though, by his casual disarray of his ginger bronze hair, that covers most of his face also most of the time. Edward has a straight nose, and is medium in size, like the rest of his facial features as in his ears.
Personality:Being who he is has always been something that Edward has struggled with, ever since he was turned by Carlisle. He believes that he is nothing more than a monster and always sees himself as 'the bad guy' rather than 'the good guy'.
Because of that he has never been much able to see the good sides of him, like the kindness he shows toward others, especially his family, and his amazing talent for music or the charming side of him.
Politeness is a very strong part of Edward. He tries to be as polite as can be, toward everyone, even though he is not the one to speak so much.
He has saved some of the outdated speech from his human life, in the early 20th century, and therefore he would sound odd to many teenagers which is another reason to why he doesn't speak that much.
He is kind of old fashioned. He would be the kind of person who would take his girlfriend, if he was an ordinary teenage boy, out for a walk in the moonlight or he would write her poetry and compose for her on the piano.
His music taste is also very old fashioned, though he listens to everything from Metal to Classic. He does prefer the 50's and dislikes the 70's very much.
Even though Edward might seem as a quiet guy, at least for humans whom he doesn't speak with much, he has quite the temper. He always struggles with some kind of anger, inside of him, mostly it's because of him being angry with himself, he doesn't get much angry as people he loves – annoyed is a better term for loved ones with Edward, but he can get angry at someone, just like anyone else, though you will, probably, not see him go out of control and attack someone as he tries to keep himself under self-control, most of the time. He doesn't want his family in trouble, but most he doesn't want to disappoint Carlisle, whom he idolizes.
Likes:
- Family - of course, since he basically owes Carlisle his life, and the others have been family to him, and family sticks together
- Bella - she is his life; he feels that she is the only reason he keeps living
- Renesmee - although he didn't like her at first, his firstborn is truly a beauty, and very contrary to the monster he first thought she was going to become
- Baseball - who doesn't love baseball? It's the American pasttime, after all.
- Composing on his piano - it relaxes him, and it is through composing that he came up with Bella's lullaby a long time ago
Dislikes:
- Human food - seriously, that stuff is disgusting
- Volturi - they're nothing but trouble, and will go to any lengths to retrieve more power, even harm Bella and his family
- Trouble - it's never a good thing, after all
- Werewolves - they're nothing but dogs to him, smelly rascals who have no purpose of being here on earth
- Hearing others' thoughts - sometimes, it just gets really annoying when he hears stuff he doesn't need or want to hear, especially people's most private thoughts
Strengths:
- Speed - Edward was the highest/best speed among his family, and it certainly gives him an edge when fighting
- Mind-Reading Ability - another advantage to Edward, where he can read opponents' moves and predict what they are going to do almost before they do it themselves
- Love for Bella - it keeps him going strong and fighting; he will never give in as long as she's still alive
Weaknesses:
- Being a "gentleman" - being like that, Edward can't bring it to himself to "fight" dirty, so to speak, and would always be fair, even against his enemies
- Overprotective nature - this may cause him to get into situations where he may die, and he does not listen to his family or Bella's complaints
- His family - he would fight for his family no matter what, and they are probably one of his biggest weaknesses, aside from Bella
History:Edward was born on June 20th, 1901, as Edward and Elizabeth Masen first, an only, child. The Masens where a middle class family just living and ordinary life, in Chicago. In 1918, when Edward was 17 years of age, he and his parents contracted the Spanish Influenza. His father died, as the first of them, and it was Elizabeths last wish that Dr. Carlisle Cullen, whom was a doctor at the same hospital at that time, would do anything to save her son from dying. Edward was turned by Carlisle and since then became his companion.
When Esme became a part of the family Edward stepped into a stage of some kind of rebellion and split paths with Carlisle, leaving both him and Esme. He used his mind-reading gifts to seek out evil people and drink their blood. This lasted for a couple of years but he decided, in the end, that it was not working out and he returned to Carlisle and Esme who welcomed him with open arms. Ever since then he has not fed on another human determined to stay 'vegetarian', as they named themselves.
While staying in Rochester, New York, Carlisle found a woman, whom had been almost killed, and had turned her in order to save her life, like he had done with Esme and Edward. Her name was Rosalie. Edward was not happy with the situation that Rosalie would be a part of their family; he believed it would only make trouble if she was to be turned into a vampire.. He had no saying in this, though, because the transformation had already begun.
Even though Carlisle had hoped for Rosalie to be a mate for Edward this never happened. Rosalie never seemed as more of a sister to Edward and he knew it had offended her, but no one really seemed interesting in that way, to Edward, even though many was interested in Edward. After Rosalie came Emmett, after he had been mauled by a bear. The two of them fell in love and got married.
Around 1936, Edward and his family moved to Forks, for the first time. It was then when they encountered the Quileutes. A treaty was arranged stating that the Quileautes would not reveal the Cullens secret if they promised not to bite any humans, and by that not turning any humans, and that they'd stay of the Quileute land. The treaty was held and after a few years the Cullens moved on, to other places. It was between their first and second stay, in Forks, that Alice and Jasper joined their family.
In 2003, The Cullens returned, once again, to Forks where Edward, Emmett, Alice, Rosalie, and Jasper where pretending to be Carlisle and Esme adopted children.
There, in Forks, he met a particular girl named Isabella Swan. He was instantly enticed by her scent; it was so strong that he almost killed everyone in a classroom just to try and feed on her. Edward had quite a difficult time maintaining his self-control around her, but later on, they find common ground and find out that they are in love with each other. They proceed to becoming a couple, then get married a few years later.

Role-play Example:At The rain was beating down hard on Forks, Washington, as it did most days. Edward did miss the Sun. As much as Edward knew it was a cautionary act for vampires to be in the sun, for risk of exposure, he still yearned for it to peek in between the gray clouds, if only for a few moments. The Sun brightened everything in this dim place, enlightening the miniscule details too small for human eyes, or just unnoticeable. But Edward knew the Sun’s power. The Sun protected people, it kept them alive. It chased away the bad dreams, the ghouls, the ghosts. Therefore, Edward had concluded that gray was the color of hell. And what a hellish world he lived in. A land of gray, never-ending. The senseless purgatory he was sent to every day for no reason whatsoever.
The only thing keeping Edward attached to this world was his family. The Cullen’s were an extraordinary group of people. Edward could see no one better hearted than Carlisle, or warmer and more loving than Esme. He loved them with all of his deadened heart, and he could never hurt them by leaving again. Edward would do anything to please them, and nothing to upset them. He loved them. They were all he had.
Edward slowed his sprint to a walk, walking gracefully and without a falter on the earth covered ground outside the Cullen household. The house was quite beautiful, a rare find on Carlisle’s part. It was both perfect and secluded. The perfect size. The perfect dimensions. The perfect place. Edward slid past the front of the house in his saunter, making his way to the garage. He couldn’t hear anyone outside; they were all inside. Esme was in the piano room, humming to herself at the piano itself, her thoughts peaceful. Carlisle was at work, not to be home for another few hours. Though it was a Saturday for the rest of them, Carlisle still had work. Alice was reading what looked like Pride and Prejudice from her head, and Rosalie was in her room, being…well, Rosalie. Emmett and Jasper were in the living room, which was where Edward decided he would reside.
Edward sidled into the house silently, looking up to the broadness of the house, and murmured a soft greeting that would be heard by everyone in the house. He entered the living room, nodding to Jasper as he sat down in an armchair to the side of the couch where Emmett and Jasper were sitting. Edward gave into his morale to see what Emmett and Jasper had been discussing. On their minds was a fight between the two of them. Edward chuckled for this first time in days. “Em, no matter how many times you have a rematch, you’ll still have to live with the knowledge that Jazz beat you.” Edward shook his head, smirking at his brother. He had witnessed the fight himself; it had been fairly close, but Jasper had managed to pull through at the last moment. He gave Emmett a playful glance. Emmett got competitive too often than none.
Edward sat back in the chair, thinking about school on Monday. As much as he hated it, he knew that without school, he’d be at a loss all day. There’d be nothing to do. No stupid thoughts from narrow-minded people to amuse him. No remarkable humane stunts to keep him occupied. No burning thirst to keep him on his toes. Edward knew school wasn’t logical for the vampire, but at least it gave him something to do. Just thinking of the thirst made him that much more thirstier. Edward stood up fluidly, exiting the room and flitting up the stairs. He walked to Alice’s room, knowing she was thinking about her thirst as well. Edward entered her room without knocking; she wasn’t busy, and she wouldn’t mind.
Edward sat on Alice’s window sill. She didn’t look up to him entering. She was still reading. Edward glanced out of the window, looking out into the forest that surrounded the house. It made him more eager to depart. Edward breathed out, controlling his feeling. “Join me in a hunt, tonight?” Edward glanced over at Alice quickly, a smile tugging at his lips. He already knew her answer without her saying anything. Of all the Cullens, Edward felt most comfortable with Alice hunting with him. He wouldn’t say no to the others, but Alice would usually be his first option. Edward glanced out to the forest again, his eyes catching the dull sky, his mind being taken over with his gray thoughts once more.
