Nessie wasn't necessarily a person to get bored easily. She was more of the type who... wasn't entertained very easily when she was home alone. She was a very social person, and being stuck in her own house wasn't much fun. It was sunny today, figures. A rare, very rare, sunny day. Most of her family had gone on a hunting trip, but Renesmee wasn't hungry/thirsty. Though she needed daily nourishment, Renesmee had eaten today at school. Human food... the thought of it made her nose wrinkle. Sometimes it was preferrable to getting dirty out in the forest, and besides: school had been fun today. There had been a winter talent show. She had thought it was fun to watch humans make a fool of themselves on stage. Especially since she knew so many vampires who were so much better at what the humans had been doing.
But now it was after school. Nessie was in her room, curled up on her warm little bed. The cold outside had been nipping at her - and it had been one of those times that she wished she wasn't half-human. It gave her weaknesses that her parents and family didn't have. It was annoying sometimes. Especially in winter, when it was colder than usual here in this little Canadian town. She was constantly being swathed in sweaters and scarfs and hats and gloves by an overprotective family. Nessie stretched and sat up, looking around her room for something to do.
Her eyes rested on her bookshelf. Like her mother, Renesmee had developed a habit of reading old classic novels. Her guitar was resting in a corner, like it had been all day. That looked pretty lonely too. She bit her lip. Within a half a second, Nessie decided that playing guitar and making up a new song for her mother, or father, or Jacob would be much more fun. She got up, raced over and picked up the guitar, and went back to her bed in less than a second. Super speed was also an advantage to being half-vampire. Nessie strummed a few times until she found the right key. It was her favorite - because it was pretty and a lot of slow songs she had heard were played in this key.
She hoped someone would come and keep her company while she played.

Bella had walked out of the school. A smiled played on her face. She loved it here but she missed Forks a lot. She missed her father and her mother. She wasn't complaining she loved where she was, who she was, who she was with. She was thankful that Jacob came along with them. Sometimes she would need him to talk to and since he was always there she talked to him a lot. She had no idea if her father or mother were still alive and she wished that she could see them but she knew she couldn't.
She walked over to the parking lot and spotted her car. She was never into a Volvo. That was Edward's car. She like her car, a light blue Jaguar. She got in and started it. She smiled as her stereo blasted. She drove out of the parking lot and got home in only a few minutes. She pulled up the drive way. She felt that he daughter was home, and bored. She shook her head. She pulled up into the car port and turned off the car. She got out an walked inside.
As she walked inside the huge house. She was still getting used to the size of this place. She walked inside and heard her daughter playing her guitar. She smiled to herself. She slowly glided upstairs. Even though she had speed she liked walking at a normal pace. When she got outside of Renesmee bedroom door she stopped a listened for a minute.
She opened the door and looked at her daughter. She waited until she finished playing before she spoke. "Hi sweetie. How was school?" She smiled and walked inside her bedroom and sat down next to Renesmee.

Renesmee was just strumming a chord that she thought was fairly pretty - that would be a part of the refrain (she was sure of it) - when she heard a car pull into the driveway. It didn't have the purr of her father's Volvo, and it wasn't the roar of Jacob's motorcycle or truck. It was the growl of Bella's Jaguar. Nessie's expression brightened immediately, and she went into even harder work with her guitar. She was sure her mother could hear her playing now, and Renesmee beamed as she heard the door open and shut as Bella entered. She loved her mother just about more than anything in the world - besides her father and her Jacob. Yes, she still considered Jacob as her own. Didn't he act that way all the time?
Her thoughts wandered for a moment as she paused in her strumming, and Bella entered her room. Nessie grinned and scooted over so there was room for her mother. 'Hi sweetie. How was school?' her mother asked. Renesmee paused, thinking of what she could say. She was going to be honest about it, obviously (there wasn't any lying in this house when her father was around, since he could read her thoughts). But she thought about how to word it. Boring? Repetitive? Compeltely and utterly useless? "Well, today was better than usual. I watched a talent show. It was boring, because nobody's as good as Dad or you," she remarked bluntly.
Her eyes wandered to her window. "How was your day?" she asked her mother. Nessie felt so normal, sitting here, next to Bella as if they had no cares in the world. She liked it.

The shrill school bell rang, the waves of sound echoed throughout the whole school. The narrow, empty hallway was instantly filled with rushing students, all of them eager to get out of class and of school. It was the last period, after all, and time seemed so slow today. The teachers had assigned mounds of homework in preparation for the long break that was to come, and they had not hesitated to do so. Projects were due here and there, and piles and piles of study material were handed out as guides to the upcoming examinations. The students had all complained, but of course, it did them no good. The teachers in this school were far from generous, and the school’s curriculum itself was harsh. So all in all, it was truly a break to escape it all, even if it was only for the night. The students knew this, and rushed out as soon as they could. One male, however, remained, taking his time as he almost lazily exited the History classroom.
Spikes of bronze coloured hair gleamed dimly under the low illumination of the fluorescent lights. They were in no regular pattern; they were in a disarray, sticking up straight in every direction. They moved lightly as the light breeze passed through them; the figure was moving. The exit/entrance doors to the school opened, and Edward was greeted with a dull sunlight. It was low enough to not reveal his diamond-faceted skin, and he smiled. Today, another day ended, and tomorrow, there was to be a history final. However, unlike all the other students, he had about a century of knowledge stored up, after repeating high school for who-knows-how-long, and like his family, they could easily ace their tests. Teachers thought the Cullens cheated, but then, they had no proof of that. If the only knew why and how exactly they got high scores, they would most likely not believe it.
The parking lot was already full when Edward entered it, walking lazily once more to his silver Volvo. He looked around for a second, and instantly realized that the Jaguar parked beside his was no longer here. That meant that Bella had gone on ahead of him, and he smiled. That meant that she must have enjoyed riding her car, his present to her. At first, she had been quite pig-headed about the whole thing, refusing to accept it. But in the end, through far from hostile means, she caved, and had agreed to take it to school. Sometimes, she was just too easily won over...
Edward unlocked his car and drove speedily back home, as was his usual style. He arrived within a few minutes, and parked right outside the house. Even from here, he could decipher the thoughts of everyone inside the house. It seemed empty now, except for the very familiar voices of Bella and Renesmee, his daughter. They were talking about how everything was that day, and he smirked to himself when he caught his daughter thinking about lying. Yes, that was indeed possible when he was around. Edward made his way into the house, careful not to make so much as a thud of a footstep. With his agility, he appeared behind Bella and wrapped his arms around her lovingly, pressing his nose against her hair, and inhaling her intoxicating scent.
“Well, well, are we having a family meeting without me?” he asked, his mouth still pressed against Bella’s chocolate brown hair.

It was then, before her mother answered, that Renesmee heard something else. Her expression brightened still. It was the purr of her father's Volvo. She'd grown so used to that sound, and she sat straighter so as to see her father emerge from the bright silver car. Though she'd never tell her mother, she liked her father's car much better. Silver was one of Renesmee's favorite colors, so that was the main reason why she loved Edward's car so much. She'd never driven it, she'd only been in the passenger seat a few times. But no matter, Nessie was in love with the car. She'd have to ask for one for Christmas... if it wasn't too late to put it on her rapidly growing list.
Nessie knew her father could hear her thoughts, so she just grinned and waited for him to come upstairs like she knew he would. She knew her mother and father were the closest couple in the world - closer than she and Jacob were (mainly because neither Bella or Edward would let them be very close anyway - they were a bit overprotective in that department... and occasionally it got annoying that her own father could read her runaway throughts). She enjoyed watching them together, and seeing her father suddenly appear in her room and wrap his arms around her mother made Nessie smile with adoration. Oh, how she loved her family. There was nothing like this in the world, she knew.
"We knew you were coming," Nessie replied sharply, as if her father had accused her of a capital crime. "And we were only talking about how my day was. Like I said, it was boring and I missed you both too much. I like family gatherings much better than school." She grinned at both of her parents. Someone, she couldn't remember who at the moment, had told her how much trouble her parents (especially her mother) had gone through to had her - even if she had been a 'freak accident'. That was the main reason she loved her mom and dad so much. Despite everything they had gone through together, and in spite of what she had done to Bella before her birth, she was still loved. It made her feel good about herself.

Before Bella answered her daughter's question she heard her husbands Volvo down the road turning into the driveway. A smile appeared on her face. She loved her husband more than anything. She heard him turn off his car and open and shut the door. He appeared next to her and kissed her head. She wrapped her arm around his waist and looked up and smiled at him. He was so handsome and good-looking. She wondered what she ever did to get Edward in her life. He really was perfect. She felt she wasn't at times. But every time she was around Edward she felt perfect.
She heard her daughters reply and the tone in her voice. "Renesmee don't talk to your father that way. He was only asking a questions sweetie." Bella never was good at being mean to her daughter or anyone for that matter really. She could do it but it hurt her inside to be mean or to be angry at anyone. It just wasn't her. Renesmee was a good child she never did much to get in trouble and even if she did hate a ew things that her and her husband did she still listened to them.
She knew that sometimes they probably made Renesmee upset and she knew he daughter has had run away thoughts. she'd never let her daughter know that it tore her up inside. To Bella Renesmee was still a baby and she didn't want to think about losing her. Bella loved Renesmee more than anything and she would do anything to save her. Even if it meant Bella dying because of it. She leaned against her husband slightly and asked, "How was your day?"

Edward wrapped his arms around Bella tighter, no longer afraid of having to lose control and accidentally kill her. This was the one big advantage of having turned her, although it wasn’t that pretty when she was turned. He had only done it to save her life when she was giving birth to Renesmee, although in the past, he always claimed that turning her would be destroying her life. It seemed to constantly mesh nowadays, good and bad. But then again, if he had let Bella die, he would never have carried on with his immortal life. He would have probably finished himself off than to never smell her intoxicating scent, than to never look at her warm, chocolate brown eyes – now golden coloured – filled with unspoken thoughts, than to never look at her perfect face. It saddened him just to think about it. He rarely did, though, since she was always there with him now, and he would do anything to protect her.
A smile formed on his face as Bella wrapped her arms around his waist. She was warm to him, although to a human, they would have ice cold skin. Right now, they had the same body temperature, but to him, she always seemed warmer for a reason. It was probably because of the odd feelings that erupted inside of him whenever she touched him; it made him want to explode with joy. Her hands were always so gentle, her skin almost so smooth, and he felt like he had to resist her every single moment of the day. It was almost painful, but he was able to do it. He gazed into her eyes and was temporarily lost in their golden pools. He had to take a deep breath and force himself to look away, trying to fight a smirk on his face.
Edward let out a low laugh when he heard Renesmee’s reply. “Of course, you do. I was just joking around.” He unwrapped his arms around Bella’s waist and used his hands to play with her long hair, twirling the strands absently. “It’s fine, darling. I know she didn’t mean anything by that comment. I would know, of course.” He winked at them and laughed again, truly enjoying himself. It was nice to have peace in the house once in a while. With fewer people inside, he wouldn’t be able to hear as many thoughts, and for that he was glad.
“So,” he said, turning to the two of them, still playing with Bella’s hair. “What are we doing today?”

Bella was smiling. Whenever she was around Edward it happened. She couldn't stop smiling not that she was complaining. She defiantly wasn't. Edward was one of those people - for her - that could brighten up a room just by walking into it. She felt so much for him. When she was human she always wondered if it was possible to love someone more than she loved Edward. And it was. Bella loved Edward more than she ever thought imaginable. And she loved Renesmee just as much.
When Edward looked into her eyes it was like she was floating on air. She knew Edward would do anything to protect her and she would do the same for him. Every moment she spent with Edward she cherished more than anything. She knew that he would always be there for her no matter what. She could tell how much he cared for her and it made her smile to think about it. They had so many memories together and they have so much more to come.
Bella felt Edward being to play with her hair and she smiled. She loved when they were together which was basically every minute of everyday and when they were apart she missed him dearly. Bella smiled at his question. She had no idea what they were doing today. "I don't know. I guess its really up to Renesmee." She looked at her daughter and smiled. She couldn't be more happier that to have her daughter. Bella didn't mind the pain she went through to have her that all meant nothing to Bella after Renesmee was born. She loved her from the start. Even if Renesmee was something else, like what the Volturi thought she was she would still love her the same.

The half-human, half-vampire looked at her mother respectfully, dipping her head when she was chided. Her father was right, she had been joking around, but it still hurt a little that her mother believed that she'd ever back-talk her father. Edward was her hero - wasn't that how all daughters envisioned their fathers? Her chocolate brown eyes were down on her bedsheets, and she fiddled with a guitar string (it was still perched on her lap). Nessie wasn't truly effected by what her mother had said, but it still hurt just a little. Like a beesting, or so that was what the humans said. Renesmee had been stung by a bee once - the stinger shattered as soon as it had tried to break through the skin. It was humurous, really. Nessie had laughed - she'd only been three years old then (though she had the physical appearance of a six-year old at that point).
So Nessie did her best to forget what her mother just said - considering as Edward had vouched for her and announced that she hadn't meant it. She threw a smile his way, thankful. Her mother couldn't read minds, so Bella hadn't been able to see that she was joking. She wondered what it was like for normal teenagers who didn't have the advantage of her parents knowing her thoughts. Nessie twisted her nose in disdain. That sounded... irritating.
So her attention went to her parents again. Renesmee loved them so much. Love was just an emotion that seemed to flow through everyone whenever they were all together. It made Nessie feel at home (even though she felt at home around anyone from her vampire and werewolf family, really). Everything was just so right. Her family was so perfect - even if she was something that hardly anyone else in the world was. Her parents called it being something special, but whenever she thought the word 'special', a rotten memory of the Volturi flashed through her mind. She knew that they considered her different, not special. A hybrid. Nessie didn't like to think of that word, it made her feel like a freak that didn't belong in the world at all.
Nessie shook her head, clearing those thoughts and listened to her parents muse over what they should do. Her mother said that it was up to her to decide, and Renesmee blinked. "We can just be a family for a while," she suggested brightly, as if it were the only option available. "Or we can do something... um... I don't know." She hated not knowing what to do. But, pressure like this (even if it wasn't much), made her nervous.

Bella looked at her daughter. "I'm sorry sweetie. I did not mean to hurt you. I guess today has just been a long day and I'm not thinking straight. Forgive me?" She felt bad. She really did. Bella really had no idea what came over her or why she said that. She knows Renesmee a lot better than that and knows she'd never do or talk-back to her father. Sometimes Bella wished she could read minds like Edward but she loved her shielding power. It meant she could protect everyone better. She wasn't complaining.
Bella laughed at her daughter's reply. "Sweetie we are a family. We may not be the best family or the greatest family but a family we are." She paused then added, "If you can think of anything else you would like to do just let me know." She loved seeing her daughter happy and like any mother would, she would do anything to make sure she was happy. It was days like these, where it feels like nothing can go wrong, that Bella loved and treasured the most and also made her wish there was more time in a day. Even though Bella never slept it still seemed like there wasn't enough time to do all the things she wants to do that day.
ooc: sorry its a little short.

Renesmee looked at her mother like she was acting crazy. She hadn't hurt her at all, really. She'd just made a mistake, and that was all. Nessie, knowing her father was still in physical contact with Bella, wrapped her arms around her mother and gave her a hug. A smile appeared on her face as she released Bella from the embrace. She was so used to her mother's cold, icy skin. It had been a normal part of her life, just like Jacob's warm and soft skin. She felt both extremely often, and her world had been built off of both. Nessie still remembered when she was a child, and was still in Forks. Life had been so easy there - so simple. Until the Volturi had come. She shoved thoughts of the frightening vampires out of her head as she grinned at her mother.
"I forgive you," Nessie responded in her light, cheerful voice. "There was nothing to forgive, though. It was just a mistake." Which, of course, was totally true. Renesmee knew her mother was one of the kindest women on the entire planet, and hated to see anyone besides herself in pain. Nessie had inherited that trait. So seeing her mother look even the slightest uncomfortable made her twinge a little on the inside.
"And I think we are a great family," Renesmee stated proudly. She looked at both her mother and father again, relishing in the picture of them together, loving each other. Nessie hugged them both this time, setting her guitar down on her bed. "I don't care if any of us are human or not. Mom, you're the best mother someone like me could have. And Dad, I love you so much I think my heart would burst if I loved you any more. And nobody is going to tell me anything different." She smiled boldly - as if someone actually had told her differently in the past few hours. If they had, they'd probably be missing their head right now. Nessie was that protective over her mother and father.

It was moments and times like this that Edward was truly grateful for having met Bella at all. Before her, it all seemed a hazy dream, but he could clearly remember how obsolete and monotonous everything had been. It was like a TV re-run over and over again, and there was nothing to live for. Immortality had its disadvantages from time to time, especially when you were all alone in the world, living in a house full of couples. Every day, Edward had to be surrounded with sickly, love thoughts from Carlisle and Esme, Jasper and Alice, Emmett and Rosalie, although he was sure they didn’t mean for him to hear. It wasn’t his fault that he had this ability, and they did not blame him for entering their private thoughts, but still. It was so lonesome to hear them proclaim their love for each other, and all he could do was watch. The day he met Bella was truly the turning point of his life. If he had not met her, he was not sure if he could have lived on any longer. She was a permanent light in his world.
Edward refused to let go of his hold of Bella, still having her arms wrapped around her and smelling her sweet, floral fragrance coming from her hair. He inhaled deeply, letting it fill him, and he let out a smile. She was truly beautiful, even as a human. Now that she was vampire, her beauty was magnified, and it seemed like he would need no one else. But then Renesmee came, and he realized that it would never have been complete without her as well. He truly loved his daughter, and with her addition to the couple, they were a complete family. He heard Bella’s voice of remorse as she apologized to their Nessie. He didn’t need to read her thoughts to see that she felt really bad, and that she was hurt herself for hurting Nessie. Bella rarely got mad nor scolded the child, and when she did, she instantly felt really bad about it. Edward couldn’t stand to hear her hurt, no matter how small a matter it was.
“Darling, it’s fine,” Edward murmured in Bella’s hair. “It was all a joke. Please, don’t feel bad. I can’t stand that.”
When Edward finally thought that the tension was all over, he heard his daughter’s apology, and the remorse she felt in her head. He sighed. It was all a misunderstanding; she had just been joking after all, he knew. But then, Bella hadn’t picked up on it, and she had scolded her. And now she was apologizing. Sometimes, Edward wished that others could read minds too, to avoid little fights like this. Oh, well, there was nothing he could do about that. It was out of his power.
“Renesmee,” he started, his voice soft as velvet and low as if he was whispering. “it’s ok. We all had a misunderstanding. And,” he chuckled, “I agree with you. We are a great family. And I will always love you both, and I will do anything to protect you. I will swear on that.” He smiled, flashing his dazzling white teeth. “By the way,” he winked, “I wouldn’t approve of you ripping someone’s head off, no matter their purpose.”

When Edward told both of then it was all just a misunderstanding she felt better. He was right after all. That's all it was and they would move on and continue life. Or what life they had. She looked at daughter with joy. Bella knew everything was perfect in her life. She found Edward and they had Renesmee. She could not ask for more than what was with her right now at that very moment. She could do anything in her power to protect them from any harm. She knew that she could protect them most of the time but sometimes it was hard protecting them when they were no in reach of her shield.
Bella nodded in agreement when Edward and Renesmee said that they are a good family. She agreed the most. She knew that if it wasn't for Renesmee, Bella might not be who she is today and Edward. Well in a few more years Edward would be lonely again if he never turned her. She couldn't think like that. It pained her too much to think of what Edward would do without her. When he left her in her human life and he thought she had killed herself he was going to get the Volturi to kill him. But she was able to stop him for what Alice saw was a lie. Bella wonders if it wasn't for Alice would Edward of ever come back, whould she be where she was standing today? Probably not.
As Bella came out of her thoughts she heard what Edward had said about Renesmee ripping people's heads off. She looked at her daughter. "I agree with your father. I would not approve either. You come t o us before doing that and we will deal with the person. Not you." She smiled at her daughter. The love this family had for one another was far greater than any love in this world.

Nessie just continued to look at her mother and father lovingly. Her chocolate brown eyes were soft - they were so perfect for each other. Just like her Jacob was perfect for her. At the thought of her Jacob, Renesmee sighed internally and fleetingly glanced to her window. Sometimes, Jacob came through there to say 'hello' or maybe to come to sleep with her in bed for a while. Well, at least, before her mother or father caught his scent in the house and went to throw him out in a rather forceful way. Sometimes Bella and Edward could be a bit too overprotective. Her eyes flickered back to her mother and father as they spoke, grinning at the last bit of what her father said.
It wasn't like Nessie would actually tear someone's head off... more like break a limb with a twitch of her fingers. She didn't like the thought of someone saying something mean about her family. Let alone actually attempting to hurt them. The thought of that made Nessie want to sharpen her teeth on something - like another vampire's arm or leg or neck. Not any of the Cullens of course; she loved them all far too much to even think of doing something like that to then. Then the thought occured to her that these venomous thoughts of biting othre vampires and breaking human limbs was probably upsetting her parents even more. Nessie winced.
She wrapped her arms around herself and curled her knees up onto the bed. Renesmee gazed at her parents remorsefully. "I wouldn't actually kill anyone," she grumbled. "And if someone said something bad about you, I probably wouldn't be able to stop myself anyway. Especially if it's someone I can handle myself. But I promise I'll come to you if that person is stronger than I am." She looked at both of her parents as she said it - as a vow that she was telling the truth. The people that came to her mind when she made this promise were the Volturi. They'd probably be too strong for her - so Nessie would never try to go up against one of them anyway.

Bella smiled at her daughter "Thank you Renesmee. We just care and don't want you getting hurt." She pulled away from Edward and want and hugged Renesmee when she sat on her bed with her arms around her knees. "I love you Renesmee. Very much. And I won't let anyone hurt you or your father or any one else in our family." She smiled "And I have the power to do so with." She smiled proudly. She loved her shielding power. Maybe a little too much.
She ruffled with Renesmee hair. "Sweetie. Go and find Jacob. Have fun. Just be back before dark please." She knew Renesmee wanted to see him. She could tell when her daughter looked out the window and sighed. It was in her eyes as well. "I'm sure me and your father will find something to do without you. And we will do something together when you get back ok." She promised.
